Dear Kenny,

There's a lot for you and I to argue about today. Right now British Petroleum has caused an oil spill larger than anything we've known to date. Of course you could argue that it wasn't BP. It was the contract driller. Or they could argue it was a subcontractor. Bottom line: BP found a spot in the Gulf where they wanted a well, they drilled. The drill blew up. And now there is oil everywhere. BP caused it.

Your girl friend, Sarah said yesterday that the President is in BP's pocket. He's not pushing hard enough to get the leak stopped and getting the oil cleaned up. God, I can't believe they give this girl a mic. Listening to her is like listening to a whining child in the playground. Always complaining about all the things in the child's life that makes her miserable and her not smart enough to know that none of these things are the cause of her misery.

I listened on NPR yesterday that the president of BP has 2300 employees working full time on a solution. He also said he has been in some command center down on the Gulf since day one with a couple of hundred employees. There were also state and federal people there. I'm not a big supporter of big oil or big anything, but God, what else can you do? Capping the leak a couple of thousand feet below the surface is not easy and now in week three they still have not figured it out yet. So I guess, BP is spending millions and the spending won't stop until they find a solution. My guess is that they are working pretty hard to stop this. They should be buying the best minds.

So what does Palin want the government to do? Take over the clean up! That's rich. I am sure the federal government is real good at subsurface drilling, capping wells in the Gulf and cleaning up wetlands. Why do we give stupid people a mic? A forum? Why doesn't the media say, "That's a stupid idea. We're not going to share that uninformed opinion with anyone."

Well, she's your girl friend. I am sure you would love to tell me how "right on" she is and that the liberals are screwing up this country again. Bull shit! At least the feds were on the scene day one. More than Bush did during Katrina. And it wasn't the Democrats that relaxed the regulations on off shore drilling. It was our non-interfering-with-business Bush Republicans that did this too. It will be decades before all the harm Bush put in place will be fixed.

Hope you're having a good day. Bet your fishing. Clean water there!

Love, your brother,

Curt
